Modern vehicles are controlled by an on-board computer and the engine control unit (ECU), which defines the ignition timing, fuelling and boost pressure for all given engine speeds and loads. Vehicle remapping lets us change the way the engine is controlled and can improve performance and boost fuel economy.
It depends on what your expectations are. Generally, yes it is. It can improve the performance of your car and even save you money on fuel depending on how you drive.
It depends. If the car is within its warranty period it is always best to check with the dealer where you bought the car as it depends upon the manufacturer’s terms and aagegr of the car.
Generally, if you drive the car the same way after your engine remap, you should typically see an improvement in the economy of between 5 to 15% but every situation is different and we cannot guarantee economy improvements for all vehicles, but in normal use, the economy should not be any worse.
If a dealer overwrites your vehicle’s ECU, we may supply a new remap free of charge. However, if this involves removing the ECU, a small labour charge may be applicable.
Possibly not. Some manufacturers can tell that something has changed, but not necessarily what. If and when you need to return your vehicle back to the original remap, contact us and we will reverse the map for half the original price.
